Privacy Policy

SEHER OMLADINSKO UDRUZENJE ZA PROMOCIJU UNIVERZALNIH VRIJEDNOSTI Sarajevo built the Halqa Kur'an app (ba.seher.kuran, previously published as "Kur'an") as a Free app. This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
Information Collection and Use
The Application does not obtain any information that identifies you. Registration is not required to use the Application. There are no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics tools. The only data the Application ever sends are anonymous crash reports, described below.
Crash Reports
If the Application crashes or hits an unexpected error, an anonymous technical report is sent to Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., USA), which we use solely to fix bugs. A report contains the technical description of the error (stack trace), the device model, the operating system version, the app version and the app language. It contains no name, email, phone number, location, contacts, device identifiers, and nothing you entered or read in the Application. Reports cannot be linked to you and are deleted after 30 days. Locally Stored Data
The Application stores the following exclusively on your device, in its own local database and storage:
- bookmarked verses and the notes you write for them
- the last page and verse you read
- reading progress by page and juz, and your khatma goal
- display settings: theme, display mode and text sizes
- listening settings: reciter, playback speed and repeat
- reminder settings: whether it is on, frequency and time
- the interface language you chose and the translation you chose
- Quran translations and the tafsir downloaded for the language you chose
- downloaded surah audio and a temporary cache of network responses
This data is never transmitted to any server or third party. Deleting the app deletes it. Downloaded audio, downloaded translations, the cache and reading progress can also be cleared inside the app.
Bundled Content
The Arabic text of the Qur'an, the Bosnian translation, the tafsir and the surah, page and juz metadata ship with the Application. Reading, search and tafsir in Bosnian work without an internet connection and issue no network requests.
Content Downloaded for Other Languages
The Application's interface is available in 24 languages. For a language you select whose translation is not bundled, the Application downloads the Qur'an translation once in the background and, where one exists, the tafsir, from quranenc.com, and stores them on your device. The same happens if you pick a different translation by hand. After that, the language works offline.
That download sends a request for text and nothing else. No data about you is sent, there are no accounts and no identifiers, and what you selected stays on your device.
Internet Access
The internet is used for four things. For recitation audio: the reciter list and audio addresses are loaded from api.quran.com, and audio is streamed or downloaded from verses.quran.com and everyayah.com. For the one-off content download described above: translations and the tafsir come from quranenc.com. For the configuration check described in the next section. And for the anonymous crash reports described above, only if the Application crashes. As with any network request, those services receive your device IP address and standard HTTP headers while delivering the content. The publisher does not receive, see or store that data. Their policies apply to that content: https://quran.com/privacy, https://everyayah.com and https://quranenc.com.
If local data is ever missing, the Application has a fallback path that fetches verse text over the network (api.quran.com and api.qurancdn.com). In normal use that path is not exercised.
Configuration Check on Launch
On each launch the Application requests a small configuration file in the background from https://seher.ba/kuran-app/manifest.json. That file lists addresses that have moved, so the Application keeps working if one of the services above changes address, without waiting for a new release. Its normal state is empty. If seher.ba does not answer, two public copies of the same file are tried in turn, at raw.githubusercontent.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net.
The request asks for that file and nothing else. It carries no account, no identifier and no information about you or about what you read, and the Application sends nothing back. As with any network request, the host serving the file receives your device IP address and standard HTTP headers. If the file is missing or invalid it is ignored, and the Application continues with the addresses built into it.
Location Data
The Application does not collect precise information about the location of your mobile device.
Permissions
The Application uses internet and network access for audio, for downloading translations and the tafsir, and for the configuration check described above, notification permission for the optional verse reminder, run-at-boot so scheduled reminders survive a restart, a foreground service and wake lock for background playback, and vibration for haptic feedback. The Application does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, or photos.
Third-Party Access
Apart from the anonymous crash reports processed by Sentry on our behalf, no data is shared with third parties. The Application contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.
Notifications
The verse reminder is a local notification. It is scheduled on your device and its content comes from text already inside the Application. No push notifications are used and no device is registered for messaging.
Sharing
Sharing a verse as text or as an image is started by you, and the content goes to whichever app you choose in the system dialog. We do not see what you shared or with whom.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.
Children
The Application is not used to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. The Application does not collect personally identifiable information from anyone, including children.
Security
Since the Application does not collect any personal information, there is minimal risk of your data being accessed by unauthorized individuals.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
